Summer Fun In Orlando With Kids

Orlando Parents, it’s time for summer fun and time to make some great memories with the kids. Here is a list of things to do in Orlando that include a variety of options with something for everyone. Whether you want to be indoors or outdoors, just check out a local neighborhood or go to the beach, we have got you covered!

See Some Animals

Visit the Central Florida Zoo. Lions, Tigers, and Bears- oh my! This is definitely an activity that can last the entire day, so get ready for a lot of fun. Along with visiting the animals at the zoo, kids can feed giraffes, splash around in the splash park, go bungee bouncing and more.

While Brevard Zoo is not in Orlando, it only takes about 5o minutes to get there from Orlando. The Brevard Zoo has a splash park, a ropes course, kayaking on the lake and a lot more fun activities for a day out with the kids.

Wild Florida is a great spot in Orlando to visit with the kids. You can do their Safari Drive-Thru from the car. You will see tons of African animals including giraffes, tigers and hippos!

Visit Some of the Local Neighborhoods

Lake Nona is a new and upcoming place in Orlando that has everything to make your summer fun- so what are you waiting for?  From playing at Heroes Community Park to grabbing some Ice Cream at Red Cone, the opportunities for making memories with your kids are endless.

Winter Garden is a a great spot to visit on a day out with the kids. Here, you can pick fruit at the farmers market, walk the west orange trail, or even check out the ‘cruz n car show’ and see classic cars from the 40s and 50s!

Avalon Park has a great walkable downtown that is great for meandering around with the kids. Walk around the lakes and see the ducks, and then stop in for an ice pop at Chill Pop Lounge.

Take the kids to Dr. Phillips for a great day out. Stop by the aquarium to see some fish, play some mini golf and grab some french pastries for a picnic in the park.

Visit a Play Place

If you have littles that like to get down and play hard then you HAVE to take them to My Little Town. This age appropriate place space has everything from kid cars, to play structures, to toys that can light up your imagination. It’s a great place and I cannot wait to bring my kids back to My Little Town!

 If you are looking for an indoor play place, but for older kids, then look no further than Hukoos Family Fun. They have a ton of activities to keep your older kids running around and having fun. From bumper cars to bowling, you will definitely want the 2 hour pass because the fun is non-stop!

Planet Obstacle is the perfect spot to burn off energy for kids of all ages! This trampoline park is full of awesome activities to get kids bouncing high and smiling hard. It can be hard to get kids moving some days and this is the perfect way to get some exercise all year long.

I will warn you right now, the chances of your kids becoming obsessed with Planet Obstacle is very high. Just imagine a company taking bouncy houses and trampoline parks and combining them into one epic obstacle course. Well, that’s what Planet Obstacle did and I can guarantee that it is seriously the most fun that a kid can have (read my review here!).

Visit an Indoor Entertainment Center

Crayola Experience is a lot of fun for the entire family. There a a bunch of crayon themed activities that are perfect for kids of all ages. Want to know what a day out is like, check out our review of the Crayola Experience here.

WonderWorks is a fun day out for the kids. Inside this edu-tainment center there are lots of fun activities to try spread throughout 6 zones. Kids can learn about weather, participate in physical challenges, train to be an astronaut and more. WonderWorks also features a Glow-in-the-dark ropes course, 4D Theatre and Laser Tag course. Here are 10 tips to make the best of your day there.

Outschool has over 10,000 classes that will delight kids of all ages. Kids can take cooking classes, music classes, art classes, Harry Potter classes, math, science and much more!

Visit a Local Amusement Park

Icon Park is filled with SO many fun things to do with your kids, it can be hard to fit it all into one day! You can ride the Wheel or Starflyer, play some games at the Arcade, have some great eats and more. If you are looking for a great way to spend the day, I cannot recommend a day trip to Icon Park enough. There is so much fun to be had- check out our review here!

If you are fascinated with gators, from afar, then a day at Gatorland will be a great day out. You can safely venture up close to a bunch of alligators and learn more about these native Florida animals. Want to see the alligators from above, then a ride on the Screamin Gator Zipline will be for you. If you are extremely brave, visit Gatorland at night, for the Gatorland Night Shine, where you walk through Gatorland at night with just a flashlight and gator food.

Go To The Beach

While we don’t have beaches in Orlando, there are a lot of beaches close by. People travel from all over the world to visit Florida beaches, so why not enjoy one for yourself? Cocoa Beach is a fun day trip from Orlando. While there you can take surf lessons, play some mini golf, grab some eats on Cocoa Beach Pier or just enjoy some fun in the sun on the beach itself.
