Labor Day marks the unofficial end to summer fun, but in the sunshine state, it is perpetual fun all year long!  There are quite a few things happening in the Orlando area for the Labor Day weekend that will be fun for the entire family.  We have put together a few ideas to get the whole family out and about town to enjoy all the happenings.

Bank of America Weekends on Us

Museums on Us offers FREE general admission to more than 150 museums in over 90 cities the first full weekend of every month as a benefit to Bank of America and Merrill Lynch clients and to improve access to the arts nationwide! There are a few different museums in the Orlando area that you can go to for FREE this weekend.

Camping World Kickoff Game

The 2023 season will begin in Orlando with a match between the LSU Tigers and the Florida State Seminoles. The neutral-site game will take place on Sunday, September 3, at Camping World Stadium and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Disney on Ice

Look forward to a magical time with the family during the holiday weekend by going to see Disney on Ice at the Amway Center.  The show will be running from September 1 through September 3 (showtimes each day vary).  Learn all about your favorite Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie, Elsa, Aladdin, and the debut of Raya too.  Children over the age of two will require a ticket for admission.  Visit the website for a ticket discount code (code expires August 31) to save on this awesome family experience.

End of Season Luau

Are you ready to get your party on?!  Put on your best grass skirt and take the whole family to the End of Season Luau at the Westmonte Recreation Center in Altamonte Springs.  Take the family to this huge beach party complete with flower leis, hula dancing, and beach balls.  Come join the festivities on September 1 from 5pm to 8pm.  admission is included with membership or $5.00 per person, per visit; children three and under are free.

End of Summer Pig Out Skate

All you can eat hotdogs, pizza, and ice cream AND roller skating?  Yes, this IS the perfect way to end the summer!  Astro Skate Orlando is calling all skaters to join them on September 4 from 12 to 4pm.  There is an $8 skate rental and it is so worth it.  Bring the family to Astro Skate Orlando for food, great music, and skating too.  all ages are welcome and skate lessons are available as well.

First Friday Food Trucks

You had me at food!  First Friday Food Trucks in Historic Downtown Clermont offers families a fun (and free) night out.  Take the kiddos out to enjoy the variety of food trucks while strolling through downtown Clermont.  Live music plays in the background to accompany the fine dining.  Start the weekend with food and fun this Friday from 5:30pm to 9pm.

First Saturday History Alive!

At the Orange County Regional History Center, history comes to life on the first Saturday of every month! Through interactive exhibits and family-friendly hands-on activities, visitors interact with history.

Free Entry to Harry P. Leu Gardens

Entrance to the Harry P. Leu Gardens is free on Labor Day.  Take advantage of this and explore acres of lush gardens, the Bamboo Collection, and the beautiful Butterfly Collection.  Start the weekend off by visiting the Gardens and attending Movie Night on September 1 (tickets are available for purchase starting August 28).  Visit the Historic Leu Museum, built in 1888, that tells the story of the Gardens and its origins.  They are open daily from 9am to 6pm daily, and until 8pm on Thursday.  A visit during Labor Day weekend is a great way to make end of summer memories.

FAVO Art Stroll

Celebrate creativity at the FAVO Art Stroll, a bright event! Art lovers should definitely attend this live event. Discover the varied selection of works of art produced by accomplished local artists, showing their distinct perspectives and techniques. Take in the vibrant environment as you converse with the artists themselves and socialize with other art enthusiasts.

Irish Hooley Music Fest

The Irish Hooley Music Fest is ready to throw the Labor Day weekend into fun mode!  Running from September 1 through September 4, the Irish Hooley Music Fest will be held at the Ragan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant.  There will be actual Irish bands playing everything from traditional to Celtic music, grass and blues.  The “Hooley” comes with fun, games, music, complimentary face painting, and of course, food for the entire family to enjoy.  The Raglan Road Irish dancers will be afoot to perform making this a rollicking good time for the family.  admission and parking are free so come and enjoy the festivities!

Labor Day Weekend Celebration at Promenade Sunset Walk

Celebrate the unofficial end to the summer by visiting the Promenade Sunset Walk Labor Day event.  These four days of fun run from September 1 through September 4.  Each day has something new and exciting for the family to enjoy.  Live bands, great food, street performers, and even a car show!  This is a free event, but families attending must RSVP which you can do through the website.  If you choose to go just one day or all four, you are bound to have a great time!
