Florida is home to many theme parks and water parks too.  But if you are looking for a cheaper way to cool off, then you will want to check out some of the local splash pads, sprinkler parks and spraygrounds in Orlando and the surrounding areas.  We have compiled a list for you to check out some of the local cool-down spots.

Barnett Park

Barnett Park is a gated splash pad that is currently open daily from 10am to 6:45pm but is closed from 2 to 3 for maintenance.  It is free to the public and there are several chairs and umbrellas surrounding the splash pad so parents can relax while the kiddos play.  

Bithlo Park  

Located in East Orlando, Bithlo Park splash park is open Monday through Saturday 8am to 8pm and on Sunday from 1pm to 8pm.  It is free to the public and has times for the children to splash and play.  Keep in mind that the play times may change so it is best to stay up to date by checking the website on the day that you may visit.

Capehart Splash Park

Capehart splash park offers little ones and big ones a chance to hang out and enjoy the splash park as well as the other amenities the park has to offer.  The splash park has free entry and is open Sunday through Saturday 8am through 8pm and the recreation center is open the same hours as well.   

Center Lake Park

If you are looking for a fun day out for the whole family, then head over to Center Lake Park in Oviedo.  The beautifully colored splash pad offers hours of fun for the entire family.  Open daily from 9am to 9pm; however, if the temperature falls below seventy degrees that day, the splash pad will remain closed for the day.  So, head on over there because there is plenty of free parking.  

Champions Splash Park

Champions Splash Park is located in beautiful Clermont.  The park is open to the public for use and can be rented during the week in the mornings or on the weekends.  There is a cover charge of $2.00, which is non refundable in the event of inclement weather.    

Disney Springs

The Disney Springs splash pad lets everyone know that if there is a Disney stamp of approval on it, then it has to be magical.  Located near the Rainforest Café, the Mickey Mouse shaped splash pad is free and opened to the public.

Downey Park

Looking for a day out that will have something for the entire family to enjoy?  Well then head over to Downey Park.  In addition to a beautiful park, the splash pad offers kiddos a chance to cool off on a hot day.  There are different sessions for the children to enjoy, and a small fee to enter the park.   

Dr. Phillips Community Park

Located on Buenavista Woods Boulevard in Orlando, the Dr. Phillips’  splash pad is within walking distance from the park.  The fenced in splash park has an attendant during the day and there is a cost to enter the splash park.  The cost ranges from one to two dollars, depending on the season, and if paying in cash, the park requests that small bills are used.  The park does fill up quickly so getting there early is smart, or reservations can be made through the website.

Eustis Aquatic Center

Located on Lake Eustis, the sailboat themed splash pad has several fun water features like spraying water cannons, dump buckets, and more.  The Eustis Aquatic Center has a fee of three dollars per person and is open daily for the summer.

Fort Mellon Park  

Fort Mellon Park splash pad, located in Sanford, is open Monday through Thursday from 7am to 5:30pm and Friday 8am to 1pm and the splash pad hours are Monday through Saturday 10am to 6pm and entrance fees to the park are nominal at two dollars per person and children under five just need a paying adult.  The splash park has an attendant during operating hours and is able to accommodate large groups.  Season passes are available for purchase as well.  

Kissimmee Lakefront Park

Just a few minutes outside of Orlando, Kissimmee Lakefront Park splash pad offers fun for the kids on a hot day.  The park is open 7am to 10pm; however, the nature themed splash pad may have varying hours so it is best to check the website or contact the park before going.  There is no cover charge to enter the park or splash pad making it a great place for a day out with the family.

Kit Land Nelson Park

One of Apopka’s most fun places to visit, Kit Land Nelson Park has an awesome splash park.  The splash park has separate play zones for different ages and different play structures like the Mega Soaker, Splash Blaster, and the Spray Tunnel.  The splash pad is only open on the weekends but as of My 26, it will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30am to 5pm.  There is a fee of two dollars per person for entrance, but it is so worth it!

Lake David Park

Lake David Park has one of the newest splash pads in the Central Florida area.  It is open daily from dawn to dusk, through October 1.  It is free of charge to residents and visitors.  

Lake Lorna Doone 

Lake Lorna Doone Park is located on the west side of Orlando and has undergone some major renovations in he past year.  The colorful splash pad is brand new and has fun water sprinklers to keep the family cool on a hot summer day.  It is free of charge and has a fenced in playground within walking distance.  The park is open daily 7am to 11pm, however, the hours of the splash may vary so calling prior to going or checking the website is recommended.  

Reiter Park

Located in Longwood, the splash pad at Reiter Park is free of charge.  The splash pad will open late May and open hours will be Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 6pm.  With simple water fountains for children of all ages, the splash pad adds fun to an already beautiful park.

Torcaso Park

Beat the Florida heat with a visit to the splash pad at Torcaso Park in Winter Springs.  The sea themed splash pad has cool water sprays and is fenced in for the children’s safety and is open daily from 10am to 4pm.  

Trailblazer Park

The splash pad at Trailblazer Park in Lake Mary is gated and has interactive water sprays to keep the kiddos busy for a while.  The cost to use the splash pad is two dollars per person; it is currently open Friday through Sunday but starting May 31 through August 8, it will be open daily from 10am to 6pm.   

Trotwood Park

Just a little north of Orlando in Winter Springs, the Trotwood splash pad should become a family fun spot to visit throughout the year.  There is no fee to enter the park if you are a resident; non residents will have to pay an entrance fee of three dollars.  The splash pad area has spray fountains for the kiddos to enjoy and is close to the playground.  Trotwood Park is open daily from 7am to 8pm, but the splash pad hours vary so it is best to call the park before going.  

Winter Garden Splash Pad

There is a fun and free large splash pad in downtown Winter Garden.  It is open daily from 9am to 9pm.  Once the family is done with the splash pad, head into the downtown area to have lunch and a sweet treat.

Wooton Park

Tavares has a lot to offer if you visit Wooton Park.  The Wooton Park splash pad has foam floors, cool water features, slides, and plenty of toys.  There is a two dollar admission fee and fifteen dollars for those that would like to purchase season passes.
