1) Medieval Times

Take a visit back to the ye olde days and visit Medieval Times. We visited this past Christmas and the kids and adults alike had a fun time watching the competitions and cheering for our knight. Before or after the show take a walk through the medieval museum that is free to enter.

2) WonderWorks

Yes, we know that IDrive can be a beast, but the kids really enjoyed their time at WonderWorks. It has a lot of cool activities to keep them entertained, such as laser tag, a 4D theater, and a ropes course, along with over 100 games and activities.

3) Madame Tussauds

We visited Madame Tussauds a few times in a few different cities and each time it was a fun couple of hours for the entire family. The wax figures aren’t roped off so you can get close-up to them and take pictures and make funny faces. My daughter really enjoyed taking photos with the figures, even though she didn’t know who everyone was.

4) SeaLife Aquarium

While SeaLife Aquarium is not a big aquarium by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a fun activity on a hot or rainy day.  The aquarium features over 250 marine animals in a variety of exhibits. Expect to spend an hour or two here.

Tip: SealLife Aquarium and Madame Tussauds are in the same building, so you can combine both activities on one trip.

5) IFly

If you have ever wanted to go sky diving, but the whole jumping out of a plane thing doesn’t work for you, then you will want to check out IFly. I tried it and had a great time and then ended up taking the kids! This is definitely a family friendly activity; it is great for kids and adults of all ages.

6) Kennedy Space Center

Even though this is a little bit of a drive, kids will love learning about rockets and the journey to the moon. They’ll be able to see numerous rockets in the rocket garden and explore the Shuttle Atlantis. They will also be able to talk to astronauts and docents who helped design and build rockets.

7) Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit

Who doesn’t love the movie Titanic? Visit Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit and enjoy a recreation of the grand staircase, first class cabin, verandah café and more from the ships. On weekends, enjoy a gala dinner on Friday and Saturday nights with guests from the ship.

8) Gatorland

Visit with alligators and crocodiles up close at Gatorland. Go on an off-road adventure, go on a zip line, watch a gator wrestling show or a gator tricks show and if you are brave enough, you can hand feed the alligators.

Groupon is a great way to save on local Orlando attractions. I use Groupon all the time to purchase family fun activities to do with the kids.

9) Ripley’s Believe it or Not

We have taken the kids to a couple of different Ripley’s Believe it or Not locations and they always have a good time. Tour the odditorium and take a look at the oddities Mr. Ripley has collected around the world.

My entire family have seen the men in blue. The husband loved it, the kids loved it and so did my sister and her friends. Blue Man Group is a bizarre, yet fun, activity to do with the family.

11) Discovery Cove

You don’t have to take a cruise to the Caribbean or get on a plane to go snorkeling or swim with the dolphins. You can do that right here in Orlando at Discovery Cove. If you are feeling more adventurous, you can even swim with sharks.
