I love to take my daughter out to tea. It is a fun activity for us to do together and she loves drinking her fruit tea in a fancy cup and eating scones with butter (I shudder at this!). We have some one-on-one time and I can catch up with all the “drama” in the life of an elementary school kid. Hopefully, I will be able to take her for tea in London one day, but for now, one of these tea rooms in Orlando will do.

Places to have Children’s Tea in Orlando

Here are different tea shops in Orlando to take the kids for tea.

American Girl

I have been to American Girl numerous times for tea with my daughter. It has sort of become a birthday tradition. The afternoon tea experience comes with mini finger sandwiches, a fruit kabob, muffins, mini burgers, and pigs in a blanket. One of our favorites is the chocolate mousse in a flowerpot for dessert. We have a bunch of those flowers. Of course, your doll also gets a little mini tea set to pretend she is drinking tea too. Tea is only served on weekdays and is very affordable at $13.50 per person. They do have special tea events menu on weekends like the Wellie Wishers Tea Parties which include crafts and a cupcake decorating activity.

Corner Rose Tea Room

The Corner Rose Tea Room is a tea shop with a purpose. Proceeds support local charities such as the Russell Home for Atypical Children. Tea comes with a scone, soup, sandwiches, fresh fruit, and an assortment of treats. The Tea Room menu usually changes every month, so if you make a return visit you will likely be trying new things. Please note that reservations are required.

Garden View Tea Room

The Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian luxury hotel at Walt Disney World is a great place for traditional British afternoon tea. Sip from a collection of global teas while enjoying traditional scones, sandwiches, and house-made desserts. The Tea Room also serves a Mrs. Potts tea for young children. The holidays are a great time to have tea here as you will be able to enjoy all the holiday decorations at the Grand Floridian.

High T

Orlando’s newest and most enchanting setting for afternoon tea is High T, an exquisite tea experience inspired by the magical world of Alice in Wonderland. High T is the perfect destination for any special occasion, offering a fanciful dessert menu that will satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooth. But it’s not just about the delectable food and drink at High T. Immerse yourself in a dress-up tea party like no other. Infusion Tea

Infusion Tea is not your traditional Victorian tea shop. It is a more contemporary space. While they do a full tea service, as their name shows, they also have a diverse list of menu items serving burritos, sandwiches, salads, and more. They do offer a more traditional afternoon tea featuring pastries, scones with cream and jam, freshly baked cookies and bread, and three types of tea sandwiches. They only do tea for parties of 2 or more. At Infusion Tea, you can get a gluten-free or vegan tea service for an extra charge.

The Tea Room Experience

If you are looking for a traditional tea service, look no further than The Tea Room Experience in downtown Orlando. They have a certified tea sommelier on staff, which I assume is like a wine sommelier, who picks their teas. A traditional afternoon tea includes Sandwiches, fresh Scones served with Devonshire Cream and Preserves, Pastries, tea cupcakes baked from their house tea, and your choice of one of their teas picked by the aforementioned sommelier. Great pride is taken in the care of the details.

What to Expect from a Kid’s Tea Party

A kid’s tea party can be a delightful event filled with charming treats and fun activities based on the idea of high tea but made more kid-friendly. Expect an array of delectable offerings, such as sandwiches, fresh scones served with cream and jam, and an assortment of pastries. Children may also get to enjoy a unique choice of beverages like traditional tea, pink lemonade, or even Tea Snow, a delightful twist on a sno cone made from tea. You can inspire them to become tea lovers when they get older! Dress-up activities and crafting sessions could be part of the fun, making the event even more memorable. Some tea parties may cater to dietary needs too, offering options like gluten-free or vegan servings. The ambiance of these gatherings often balances a sense of elegant tradition with a child-friendly atmosphere, making it a truly unique and enjoyable experience.

Taking Tea with Your Kids

Kids’ tea parties are an excellent spot to go for a private party, celebrating a birthday or even something like a baby shower. Many of these places have award-winning selections while others focus on having children’s menu options that kids will love. You can choose from having private events or just enjoying the general vibe but whatever you choose, your kids will love it.
