When it gets really hot, there’s no place like a movie theater to hide out. It is nice and cool, and you can generally entertain yourself for a couple of hours. This summer, three local theater chains are offering a way for you and your kids to do just that on weekday mornings – enjoy recent favorites, like Trolls, and movies that are a couple of years old, like Kung Fu Panda 3, for $1 or less per ticket. Add a little popcorn to that, and you have a perfect morning enjoying summer movies.

If your summer travel plans have you going out of town, AMC Theaters also has a summer movie program – although none of the local theaters are participating. Movies are at 10AM on Mondays and Wednesdays, and cost $4. That price includes the ticket and a kid’s pack. A portion of the ticket price goes to AMC Cares.
