I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.  Orlando is a great place to find all of the amazing culinary experiences.  The opportunity for sweet treats is no exception!  Orlando sweet treats spread far and wide from Downtown Orlando to Sanford we have something for everyone. B Cupcakes

B Cupcake in Apopka offers over 20 flavors of cupcakes to choose from.  Order single cupcakes or a variety, no one will judge!  With flavors like, chocoholic, salted caramel, white chocolate raspberry, key lime, and lemon coconut crunch, to name a few, this is sure to satisfy a cupcake craving. B Cupcakes is also an award winning cupcake bakery!

Birchwood Coffee

Birchwood Coffee is a family owned business that offers delectable dessert options alongside a coffee menu that will satisfy even the most hardcore coffee connoisseur.  In my opinion, this is the best of both worlds.  Enjoy coffee, matcha, tea, the yummy tea latte, or one of their other beverage choices along with a dessert.  The kiddos can enjoy dessert, lemonade, or a hot chocolate and hang out at the little reading table and nook just for them.  There is a book shelf stocked with an array of books for adults as well.   Enjoy delicious southern family dessert recipes like buttermilk pound cake, pecan pie, sweet potato pie, cheesecake, and peach cobbler.  A must try is the banana split, it is a delicious layered dessert with a graham cracker bottom layer and cherries on top, of course!  (They also have a breakfast menu, try the french toast casserole or the homemade cinnamon rolls!  These can definitely pass as a dessert!)

Charlie’s Gourmet Pastries

Charlie’s Gourmet Pastries in Orlando is a hidden gem to many!  Indulge your sweet tooth with so many cookie options like tea cookies, sugar, chinese almond, chocolate chunk, peanut butter, white macadamia nut, and so much more.  Other options include connoli’s, tiramisu, and so many varieties of cakes and pies.

Dochi

The mochi donuts at Dochi are a mix between the Japanese rice dessert and the american fried donut.  With a crispy outer layer and a soft chewy inner layer, it won’t disappoint and is worth a try.  Dochi has a wide range of flavors like honey dew, cookie butter, churotella, blueberry, and many more.  There are two locations in Orlando, East End Market, and Mills District. 

The Donut King

The Donut King is the donut place I have heard about since I moved to Central Florida.  Their flavors of donuts are delicious, Blueberry cake, cherry cake, butterfinger, oh my..

The Donut King is home of the Birthday donut, a donut big enough to fill a dozen donut box and perfect for every birthday boy or girl…or mom or dad! Check out their menu for other food choices too!

Donuts To Go

Donuts To Go is a small mom and pop shop in Sanford.  They take pride in that and it shows in all of their donut creations.  Stop by for a traditional glazed and a cup of coffee or choose from their eclectic flavors.  Maple Bacon, Strawberry Cheesecake, Oreo, and Fruity Pebbles are just a few flavors you’ll find on their menu.  Not a donut person? No problem, check out their soups, egg bowls, sandwiches, or burritos.

Gideon’s Bakehouse

You can purchase a cookie weighing nearly ½ pound at Gideon’s Bakehouse.  Yes, you read that correctly ½ pound.  Baked fresh daily and with a variety of options, Gideon’s will certainly satisfy that sweet tooth.  Original chocolate chip, peanut butter espresso, peanut butter crunch, and coffee cake are just a few options available in that ½ pound cookie.  Cake slices are also available!  They have 2 locations, check out the original location in East End Market in Orlando, or head to Disney Springs for the other.

You can make your own “homemade” ice cream at home instead of going to a shop to get it. My kids love it.

The Greenery Creamery

The Greenery Creamery is Orlando’s first artisanal ice cream boutique.  The Orlando location has teamed up with Orlandough for a combination that is simply delicious! Who wouldn’t want to try a donut topped with ice cream? There’s nothing traditional about their flavors, and I like it!  With plenty of dairy and vegan options everyone is sure to find something they like.  Gluten free sugar cones also available.

Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream

Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream has 3 locations to meet those ice cream cravings.  Experience their homemade ice cream through known traditional flavors, or step out of the box and taste one of their signature flavors like Mexican Chocolate or Cookie Monster. Non-Dairy options available.

Insomnia Cookie

Yep, you guessed it, they’re open late! Insomnia cookies has a delicious selection of cookies, cookie cakes, brownies and ice cream.  Top that cookie with a scoop of ice cream and experience one of their delicious wiches.  A scoop of ice cream between 2 warm cookies…you won’t be disappointed!  

Mecato’s Bakery and Cafe

If you’re looking for an authentic, delicious Colombian bakery, you have found it.  Mecato’s Bakery and Cafe is just that. Choose from desserts like guava cheesecake, tres leche, and flan, or go with nutella cake, strawberry shortcake, chocolate cake, or tiramisu.  You won’t go wrong. 

Nan and Pops Ice Cream Shop

Nan and Pops Ice Cream Shop is a new ice cream shop in Longwood.  Owned by, you guessed it, Nan and Pop who have lived in Longwood for over 25 years.  Their flavors may be traditional, but their creations are anything but.  Follow them on Facebook and check out their ice cream concoctions and the shakes that ooze with yumminess.

Nothing Bundt Cakes

From little bite sized bundt cakes to full tiered cake Nothing Bundt Cakes has you covered.  Satisfy your sweet tooth with their array of flavors.  Lemon, Confetti, and Chocolate Chocolate are just a few of their yummy flavors.  Gluten free is available at this location.

Orlandough

Craft donuts anyone?  Yes, please!  Orlandough is a bakery without a store. Crazy right? Nope, they’ve partnered with their local business friends at Greenery Creamery and Easy Luck Coffee and Bodega to stock and sell their yummy donuts.  Stop in and try them out or visit their website to cater your next party or have them spell out a sweet message for someone special.  

Se7en Bites

While this is a traditional restaurant with breakfast and lunch, their desserts menu is not to be underestimated!  Se7en Bites offers a variety of sweets to be enjoyed!  One of which was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives!  The Vanilla Bean Bourbon Bacon Nightime SkyPie is made daily and served until it runs out, but get there early if you want to try it!  Other options include mini pies, cheesecake, savory/sweet scone, cookies, brownies, and so much more.

Sister Honey’s

Sister Honey’s is an award winning bakery in Orlando! Their bakery items are made fresh daily and fly off the shelves.  With items like pies, cupcakes, cakes, pastries, and so much more one can understand why!  One look at the website and your mouth will be watering!

The Soda Fountain

I am not going to lie, just looking at this menu makes my mouth water! What’ll ya have? An ice cream scoop, a sundae, a milkshake, a float, a sorbet spritzer, egg cream?  They have it all, it’s an ice cream lovers dream. A local Orlando ice cream company makes The Soda Fountain’s Ice Cream and soda flavorings.  Don’t forget to ask about their vegan flavors.

Southern Home Bakery

Located in College Park, Southern Home Bakery, has some of the yummiest buttery cookies in town.  A variety of selections are available and range from cookie cakes, to gourmet cookies like pumpkin spice, snickerdoodle, triple chocolate, red velvet, and even a gluten free peanut oatmeal.  This specialty cookie shop has decorated cookies of all kinds with themes such as, princess, animals, baby, food and drink, flowers, and many more.  You can also customize your cookies with wording, your own logo, or purchase a DIY Cookie Decorating Kit.  Bonus, you can also subscribe to a monthly cookie box!

Valhalla Bakery Orlando

Located inside Market on South, Valhalla Bakery is getting rave reviews. Their entire selection is vegan friendly and doesn’t taste it.  Their selection of cookies, cupcakes, pies, and cakes keeps people coming back for more. This location does not offer gluten free options.

There are so many delicious dessert options in the Orlando area.  Finding the right one won’t be hard, but choosing the first to visit might be. 

Try one or try all of these dessert places in Orlando. A return trip will definitely be in your future.
