Looking for an easy, exciting, and action-packed day with the kids? Look no further than ICON Park in Orlando! Whether your crew is full of tiny tots or big kids with a need for speed, ICON Park has something for everyone—and plenty of ways to burn off that endless kid energy.

We recently spent the day exploring ICON Park and honestly? The hardest part was deciding where to start.

Itinerary for a Fun Filled Day at ICON Park Orlando

Kick Off With a Spin on The Wheel

There’s just something magical about kicking off your day 400 feet in the air. The Wheel is a must-do—your kids will be amazed at how high they are, and the views of Orlando are absolutely breathtaking. Don’t worry, the ride is slow and smooth, so kids shouldn’t get scared.

Good to know: You are able to play songs via Bluetooth in your pod, so make sure you have a few songs downloaded onto your phone.

Dive Into Fun at SEA LIFE Aquarium

After soaring above the city, head under the sea at SEA LIFE Aquarium. This spot is always a hit with younger kids, my son included. Kids can see, learn about and interact with lots of different sea life. One of the coolest areas in the aquarium is the walk-through tunnel where sharks swim overhead. Bonus: it’s air-conditioned and a great break from the Florida heat.

Good to know: Make sure to grab a scavenger hunt sheet for the kids. If they find everything, they get a small prize at the end.

Snap Some Silly Selfies at Madame Tussauds

Next up: Madame Tussauds! Even if your kids don’t know every celeb, they’ll still have a blast posing with lifelike wax figures. They can pose with presidents, inventors, actors, singers and more. Our favorite part is the DC Super Heroes section. I mean, it’s pretty cool to see Superman holding up a helicopter.

Challenge the Mind at Museum of Illusions

Want to mess with their minds a little? In a good way, of course! Head to the Museum of Illusions, where nothing is quite as it seems. The rooms are trippy, the photo ops are endless, and younger kids will be fascinated by the mind-bending exhibits and older kids will love getting photos for the gram or to share with their friends.

Game Time at In the Game

If you still have energy, head on over to In the Game for some gaming fun? At In the Game, they have managed to pack a lot of fun into a small space. It is packed with arcade games, including some of the carnival ones which are my favorite, VR games, a mirror maze and a 7D motion theater. In the Game is great for both littles and big kids (and let’s be honest—parents too).

Break for Lunch

All that fun is sure to work up an appetite. Luckily, ICON Park has plenty of family-friendly options. Brother Jimmy’s is a great pick for tasty barbeque, I recommend the pulled pork and mac and cheese myself. If you’re looking for something casual and crowd-pleasing, Shake Shack always hits the spot; you can’t go wrong with burgers, fries and a shake! if you want a sit-down spot with lots of variety, Yard House fits the bill; it’s great for picky eaters and adults alike.

Extra Fun at Icon Park (If You’ve Got Time)

For the Littles

Stop into Build-A-Bear Workshop and let the kids create their own cuddly souvenir. And take them for a ride on the carousel and Icon Park Express train. They can even mine for gems at the “train depot”.

For Older Kids

Got thrill-seekers in your group? ICON Park is home to the Orlando Slingshot and StarFlyer—two of the most adrenaline-pumping attractions in town. These are definitely for your older kids (and maybe the brave parents, too!).

Final Thoughts

We love that ICON Park is right in our backyard and that it doesn’t have the crowds nor the pricing of the major theme parks. Whether you make a full day of it or just pop in for a few hours, it’s an easy go-to for keeping the kids entertained.

With free parking and no admission to enter the park itself, it’s a fun, flexible option for Orlando parents looking for a day out with the kids.
