Family Fun at In the Game
When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do was go the arcade and play games. I was a pro at Donkey Kong, Centipede and Mrs. Pac Man. Yes, I am totally dating myself. As I got older and had kids of my own, I still loved going to the arcade and taking them with me. While a lot of things have changed about the arcade, like the quality and quantity of offerings, the fun still remains.
In the Game Arcade Orlando
In the Game is the newest arcade offering in the Orlando area. It is located at ICON Park inside the Wheelhouse. However, In the Game is not your traditional arcade. Not only does In the Game offer traditional arcade games, but it also offers carnival type games, VR games, an escape room, a mirror maze and a 7D ride.
The Arcade Games
The arcade games are a mix of games that you would find at a traditional arcade, including games for younger kids, driving games and fighting games, as well as games to win prizes or tickets. They also have games that in the past would be found at the local carnival, such as ring toss, bean bag toss, milk jug toss and more.
The majority of the games give tickets based on the score you achieve and the tickets can be traded in at the end for prizes. While most of the prizes you will be able to get with your tickets are small, based on my kids’ excitement and that of the other kids around us, your kids will be extremely excited to pick out their prizes. I can only assume it is because they “earned” the tickets themselves and they can pick out what they want, for the most part, without any say from us.

The Maze of Mirrors
My son and I went through the Maze of Mirrors. My daughter wanted no part of it. After going through an extremely long mirror maze when she was younger, she is somewhat scared of them. This mirror maze was just long enough to make it interesting and was the perfect length for younger kids. I let my son lead the way and we got lost a couple of times, but made our way out in a few minutes.

The BoxBlaster VR Game
Right in the center of the arcade is a spot to play VR Games. They offer four different VR games that you can choose from. We decided to fight space aliens. My daughter enjoyed it so much, she played the game again while her brother and I went through the Maze of Mirrors.

The Escape Room
The Escape Room is located behind a metal door that opens once you have accepted your mission and the crew scans into the space station. The kids and I had to save a space station that was on the verge of collapsing and falling from the sky. We only had 25 minutes to get this done in (typically you have an hour). I will say that this is one of the harder escape rooms I have done. It could be a combination of the limited time and the fact that it was only me and my 11-year-old trying to solve the puzzles; my 6-year old wasn’t much help. That said, we all had a good time.
The 7D Ride
The 7D Ride is located right outside of In the Game in the center of the Wheelhouse. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to test it out as it is an extremely popular attraction and the line was long the day we went. We have enjoyed previous 7D rides that we have done and I am sure we would have enjoyed this one too.

Cost
In the Game offers a variety of pricing tiers/packages starting at $10 for 40 credits all the way up to $200 for 1200 credits.
Box Blaster VR, Mirror Maze and 7D Ride are $12 per person. The Escape Room is $20 per person.
The best deal in our opinion is the Pick and Play 3, where you get 40 credits plus three attractions for $35.
Go or No Go
We had a blast at In the Game. We expected to be there for about an hour and we ended up spending almost three hours! We definitely recommend a visit.
