I can’t believe that t’s the first weekend in February already. While events may have slowed dow a bit in January, February has definitely picket up. This weekend there are community festivals, outdoor movies, and unique art experiences that are perfect for families.

Here are 20 fun things to do this weekend with kids in the Orlando area!                                                                                                              (please make sure to confirm with the event before attending as sometimes things are cancelled last minute)

Festivals & Art Experiences

  1. DTOLive Chalk Art Festival (Free!) Watch City Hall Plaza transform into a massive open-air gallery. Professional artists will be creating mind-bending 2D and 3D chalk murals. There’s a dedicated “Kid Zone” where your little ones can grab some chalk and start their own masterpieces.

  2. Architects of Air: Luminarium Step inside a massive, inflatable “luminarium”—a walk-through maze of light, color, and sound. It feels like walking through a stained-glass window. It’s a sensory-friendly, awe-inspiring experience for all ages.

  3. Paws in the Park Bring your four-legged family members to Lake Eola for Florida’s largest pet festival. Even if you don’t have a dog, kids love the “Doggie Derby” and the agility stunts.

  4. Winter Park Arts Weekend Celebration The city of Winter Park is celebrating #FestivalMode with live performances and interactive art activities across various venues. Keep an eye out for pop-up music in Central Park!

  5. SWAG: The Art Experience Celebrate Black History Month with this family-friendly immersion into local art, music, and fashion at the vibrant ART² space.

  6.  Central Florida TET Festival (Vietnamese New Year) This is a massive, high-energy cultural celebration that takes over the fairgrounds. It’s loud, colorful, and packed with things kids love: rhythmic lion dances, firecrackers, martial arts demonstrations, and a dedicated “Kid Zone” with games. It’s a great way to experience incredible Vietnamese street food and live music without the theme park price tag.

      • Cost: Around $5–$10 for adults; kids are usually discounted or free (check at the gate).

  1. “Tiara’s Hat Parade” at Orlando Family Stage Based on the beloved children’s book, this production is a beautiful story about family, resilience, and creativity. Perfect for kids ages 4 and up.

  2. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child If you have older kids or teens, this Broadway production is bringing the Wizarding World to life with incredible stage magic. No theme park ticket required!

  4. Mr. Richard’s Kids Concert A local legend for the preschool crowd! Mr. Richard brings his guitar and silly songs to Infusion Tea for a morning of dancing and fun.

  1. Free Movie in the Park: How to Train Your Dragon Grab your blankets and lawn chairs! Magnolia Park is hosting a free outdoor screening. There are usually food trucks on-site for a perfect picnic dinner.

  2. Baldwin Park First Friday This neighborhood festival features over 80 local artisans and vendors. It’s a very stroller-friendly walk with plenty of ice cream spots along the way.

  3. Getdown Downtown Street Party Live music, food vendors, and a kids’ play area make this a great local Friday night tradition.

  4. Oviedo Mall Winter Carnival Swap the quiet movie night for a full-blown carnival! This is a classic family favorite featuring midway rides, carnival games, and all the fair food your kids can handle (think cotton candy and funnel cakes). With free admission and parking, it’s a high-energy way to kick off the weekend that is 100% kid-approved.

  1. Purple Pride 5K & Fan Fest Even if you aren’t running, the Fan Fest at the finish line is a blast for soccer fans, featuring games, Orlando City mascots, and music.

  2. Orlando Magic vs. Utah Jazz The “Fan Fest” outside the Kia Center before the game is free and full of interactive basketball hoops and prizes for kids.

  3. 125 Years of Audubon Exhibition (Final Weekend!) This is the last chance to see this incredible bird and nature exhibit at the History Center. It’s interactive and highly educational for young explorers.

Markets & Museums

    1. Free Family Funday at Mennello Museum The second Sunday of the month means free admission! They offer a miniature fine art project for kids and a tour of the sculpture garden.

2. Orlando Farmers Market The Sunday go-to. Let the kids play at the Lake Eola playground while you grab fresh local honey or a giant lemonade. With the current weather, it is the perfect time to head over.

3. Winter Garden Farmers Market Consistently voted one of the best in the country! There’s often live music and lots of vendors to grab ready to made eats as well as great options to take home for later.
