If you are looking to get into the holiday spirit, then you have come to the right place. Whether you are looking to take in a Christmas play, attend a Santa Breakfast or listen to Christmas music, there is an event for you taking place in the Orlando area. So get ready to pack up the kids in the sleigh, er we mean car, and head out to take advantage of all the holiday offerings in the area.
Take the kids to a Santa Breakfast where they can tell Santa what is on their wish list and you can listen in to ensure that “he” gets it just right.
You can also take the kids to see a holiday show. Charlie Brown Christmas is playing in Winter Garden and The Happy Elf in Winter Park. If they love dancing, you can take them to see the Nutcracker playing at the Dr. Phillips Center. If you don’t think they will sit through the entire ballet, then you can take them to a shortened version of the performance at Rosen Shingle Creek. Take in Bah! – A Holiday Story, an alternative version of a Christmas Carol at The Alfond Inn or the Singing Christmas Trees show featuring 250,000 sparkling lights.
If attending a holiday concert is more your thing, then make sure to check out the 21st Annual Merry Tuba Concert in Winter Park. There will be a Christmas Concert and Sing-Along held at First Baptist Church in Winter Garden this month as well as a choir performance at Rosen Shingle Creek.
Town Center Events
The town centers of both Winter Garden and Celebration will be turning into winter wonderlands. In both town centers there will be live holiday music, caroling and much more. In Winter Garden, there will be a holiday light show taking place on the outside of city hall and in Celebration, there will be nightly snowfalls.
Other Family Friendly Events
Light up UCF is back again this year to delight Orlando families with fun rides, ice skating and more. ICE! at Gaylord Palms is another family friendly event. This year it will feature scenes from A Charlie Brown Christmas. While at Gaylord Palms you can also go down an ice slide, go ice skating or have a snowball fight.
We do live in Orlando, theme park capital of the world, so we cannot forget the holiday happenings at the theme parks. Vist Walt Disney World and enjoy the different holiday shows including the Very Merry Christmas Parade and the Candlelight Processional. Take in the Grinchmas at Universal Studios or celebrate at Sea World with Rudolph and Friends and Shamu.
Whatever you choose to do, we hope you have a great time out and about with your family.
