The rooms at the hotel have an island-inspired decor that is bright and airy. Most of the rooms overlook the lush tropical gardens of the hotel or the pool. Activities at the Margaritaville Beach House Key West

The hotel has a lagoon-style pool, where the kids can splash and play to their heart’s content. The outdoor pool has lots of seating, so parents can catch some rays or catch up on a good book while the kids play.

If your family is fond of playing games, then you’ll want to participate in the lawn games that take place in the garden courtyard or play one of the board games available in the lobby.

Love the beach? Smathers Beach is right across the street from the hotel. You can just walk across. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available to rent for the day. You can also rent kayaks, hobie cats and paddleboards, as well as go parasailing at the beach.

Even though it is vacation, we know some people still want to work out, and the hotel does offer a 24-hour fitness center if you want to work out in paradise.

During the cooler months, you can gather around the fire pit and reminisce about all the day’s activities.

Activities in Key West

The hotel offers a free shuttle to downtown Key West. We highly recommend riding the shuttle which runs every hour vs. driving as parking is difficult to find and you will most likely have to pay for parking. We never had a problem getting a shuttle, but we visited at the end of May, which is not high season.

The shuttle drops you off near the downtown marina where you can access boats going out for snorkeling, parasailing and other watersports. The drop-off point is also about a 5-minute walk to Duval Street and Mallory Square. Duval Street has lots of shops and restaurants to visit and Mallory Square has the Sunset Celebration each evening where you can see a variety of street performers and take in the beautiful Key West sunset.

You can’t go all the way to Key West and not visit the southernmost point in the US. The southernmost point marker isn’t far away from the hotel. It was a quick 7-minute drive to get there.

Food at the Margaritaville Beach House Key West

The Tin Cup Chalice Bar & Chill is the main restaurant at the Margaritaville Beach House Key West. The restaurant serves all three meals and also offers a wide range of drinks, including surprise surprise margaritas.

If you feel like sleeping in or are tired from a long day of activities, room service is available for all meals as well.

If you can’t get your day started without a jolt of caffeine, the hotel offers complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby each morning. And even better than complimentary caffeinated beverages is complimentary chocolate chip cookies which are offered each day in the lobby at 3pm. The kids were big fans of the cookies, so we made sure to stop in to grab some each day.

Good to Note

The Margaritaville Beach House Key West does offer Florida Resident rates throughout the year, so if you are interested in staying at the hotel, you can check their website for any resident specials that they might be offering.

There is a $54 daily resort fee which covers shuttle service to and from downtown and the Key West International airport, parking, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies daily, daily smoothies and popsicles by the pool, local calls and more.
