Celebrate Martin Luther King Day in Orlando
This Weekend is Martin Luther King Jr weekend. In celebration of Dr. King there are parades taking place all around the Orlando metro area. If you want to share more with your kids about Dr. King’s message, here is a list of 14 books that are good for kids of all ages and 24 MLK Day craft activities that you can do with kids.

9th Annual MLK Jr. Day Parade – Apopka
The South Apopka Ministerial Alliance is hosting its 9th Annual MLK Junior Day Parade. Join them and enjoy the celebration as they commemorate Dr. King, Jr. The theme is: “Celebrate Diversity, Embrace Unity!”

41st Eatonville MLK Junior Day Parade
This annual parade hosted by Eatonville, in commemoration to The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. honors the memory and legacy of his life and contribution to equality, freedom and justice for all. It brings the joys of community bond, unity and celebration among many local municipalities, churches, businesses, schools, and families within Central Florida to include others from visiting states.

City of Kissimmee – Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Celebration
Join the City of Kissimmee for the fourth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Celebration honoring the legacy of Dr. King and the ideals of unity, equality, diversity. This year’s events will showcase a parade running through Historic Downtown Kissimmee followed by a festival at Kissimmee Lakefront Park featuring performances by the House of Blues Orlando Gospel Brunch Band,CeCe Teneal, The Souliz Band, and DJ Nela. There will also be food, vendors, and a kids zone.

City of Ocoee’s 12th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Parade and Celebration
The parade, presented by the City of Ocoee’s Human Relations Diversity Board, honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The “Dream Starts With Me” is the theme for the parade. New this year, the post-parade celebration will take place ‘inside” the West Oaks Mall in the food court area. The city is honored to have Ronald Blocker, former Orange County Public Schools Superintendent, as its guest speaker. There will be performances by Innovation Montessori Ocoee band and chorus. Gospel singer and Ocoee resident, Sherri Gladney will also perform.

The Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade is held every January in Downtown Orlando, FL in celebration of Dr. King’s Legacy of Peace with Justice for Our World!

MLK Day Celebration – Oviedo
Join the City of Oviedo and Oviedo Citizens in Action at Round Lake Park to celebrate and honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The celebration begins with a parade starting at 10am. The parade will depart Oviedo High School, travel along E. Broadway Street, and end at Round Lake Park.
A Family Fun Day takes place at Round Lake Park, from 11am to 3pm. There will be $2 lunch combo meals at our City concessions tent, vendors, food trucks, bounce houses and live entertainment!

Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration – Winter Garden
Celebrate and honor this great leader of the civil rights movement at the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration in Winter Garden. Enjoy entertainment, speakers, vendors, kids’ activities and much more! A community parade celebration will travel from East Bay Street to the Orlando Magic Gym.
